Climate change is no longer a future scenario — it's today's reality. We analyzed which Turkish cities will be more livable over the next 20 years based on water, temperature and fire risk.
Aegean Coast – Balanced: The coasts of İzmir, Muğla and Aydın benefit from a mild climate. Summers are hot but humidity is low. Water resources are currently adequate, but drought risk is moderate.
Black Sea – Water rich: Trabzon, Rize and Artvin receive abundant rainfall. No water shortage. However, landslide risk and high humidity are downsides. Stands out as a 'water haven' in climate change.
Central Anatolia – Drought threat: Ankara, Konya and Kayseri are under continental climate influence. Water resources are declining, summer heat is increasing. Sinkhole risk is growing in the Konya Plain.
Mediterranean – Fire and heat: Antalya, Mersin and Adana are the most affected by temperature rise. Forest fire risk is high. Sea level rise threatens coastal settlements.
Marmara – Mixed picture: İstanbul, Bursa and Balıkesir face earthquake risk and water stress. But still attractive for climate diversity and job opportunities. The Kocaeli-Sakarya corridor is under industrial pressure.
Our advice: Before making a relocation decision, create your Escape profile and examine the area's 10-year climate data. Balance water, temperature and disaster risk against your personal priorities.
